Why Ducks Ed?We follow the UK Maths & English curriculum and teach the same lesson twice a day to cater to different time zones. Our teachers qualify in the UK and have experience teaching both inside the classroom and online. Our teaching focuses on closing educational gaps, creativity and collaboration.

How does the school run?We teach live, online interactive classes lasting 30 minutes every week of the year, except for some UK Public Holidays. Each lesson is repeated twice a day to accommodate the different time zones.

Why Maths & English?Maths and English are core subjects in the UK National Curriculum, and they are the foundations for many other areas of study.

What year groups do we teach?We teach Years 1- 6 Maths & English

Which curriculum do you follow?All our lessons are based on the British National Curriculum.

How does marking & assessment work?Some tasks are marked automatically online, whilst others are self-assessed. Teachers mark random pieces of work and can give feedback to parents twice a year, upon request, regarding their child’s progress. Can I enrol my child at any time of the year?Yes. Our lessons follow a structure, but catching up has been made easy. Lessons are planned with plenty of opportunities for recapping and revisiting previous learning.

Do students take part in exams?No. We do not offer any formal exams, but students take part in regular quizzes and other assessments to inform their learning.

Does Ducks Ed cater for children with SEN?Yes. All our teachers are trained to teach children with Special Educational Needs. Our teaching is interactive, and outcomes cater for all learning styles.

What Year Group should I enrol my child to?We recommend enrolling your child on their current school Year Group- see website section 'Ages & British Year Groups'. However, we believe that parents have the right to enrol their child to a Year Group they feel suits their ability. Please note that two changes to your child’s Year Group are allowed a year.

How much teaching experience do the teachers have?All our teachers are UK-trained, and many have 5 years + of experience teaching in British and International Schools.

Can I cancel my contract?Yes. You can cancel your contract at any time. Please visit our 'Terms and Conditions' section for more information.

What countries do we cater for?Our learning is accessed worldwide. All sessions are online but follow UK times. Do bear in mind that clocks go forwards and backwards during winter and summer. An email reminder will be sent once this happens to ensure that your child attends classes on time.

What technology & equipment do students need to take part in learning?A smart device and internet. A workbook, pen and pencil must also be present for every session to aid learning.
